Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Housing Manager to oversee our exempt accommodation services in the Accrington area. You will manage a portfolio of supported houses, ensuring safe, compliant, well-managed properties and positive outcomes for tenants with a range of support needs. Key Responsibilities

Manage tenancies for approximately _____ tenants across _____ properties (sign-ups, inductions, moves, and exits).
Manage referrals, allocations, and occupancy to ensure fair and efficient use of accommodation.
Address tenancy/licence breaches, ASB, and related issues in line with policy and housing law.
Ensure properties meet all health & safety, fire safety, and housing standard requirements.
Carry out regular inspections, arrange and follow up on repairs, and minimise voids.
Lead on safeguarding concerns and risk management, promoting tenant safety and wellbeing.
Work closely with local authorities, housing benefit teams, probation services, health agencies, and other relevant organisations.
Oversee housing benefit claims and rent accounts, monitor arrears, and take appropriate action.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to performance and quality reporting.

About You

Proven experience in housing management, supported housing, or exempt accommodation.
Good understanding of: exempt accommodation/supported housing, tenancy/licence management, safeguarding, and health & safety in residential settings.
Experience working with vulnerable or marginalised groups.
Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
Confident IT user (e.g. Microsoft Office, case/housing management systems).
Ability to travel across the Accrington/ Burnley area (full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred).

Desirable:

Relevant housing or social care qualification (e.g. CIH or related field).
Knowledge of local services in Accrington and wider Lancashire.
