Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those looking to develop their culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen setting.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support senior chefs with food production, ensuring quality and presentation are maintained
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
Help with portioning, garnishing, and plating of dishes for service
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment
Assist in supervising junior kitchen staff when required, fostering teamwork and efficiency
Contribute to the development of new menu items under supervision
Ensure all food is stored correctly and rotation procedures are followed

Experience

Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
Experience in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant service will be highly valued
Supervising experience or team management skills are considered a plus but are not mandatory
A genuine interest in culinary arts, hospitality, and customer service is essential
Ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions accurately
