About the Role:

We are looking for a Business Development Manager who can take ownership of our client acquisition and commercial growth activities. You will identify new business opportunities, develop long term relationships with prospective clients and turn qualified leads into profitable partnerships.

This is not simply a high volume sales position. You will take the time to understand each prospective client, identify their operational challenges and present practical solutions that support their business objectives. You will work closely with our operations, project delivery and client services teams to ensure that every commercial commitment can be delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development Strategy:

Develop and implement practical business development plans that support revenue targets and long term company growth.

Lead Generation:

Identify prospective clients through market research, professional networking, referrals, outbound communication and industry events.

Client Relationship Management:

Build trusted relationships with decision makers, understand their business needs and maintain regular communication throughout the sales process.

Consultative Selling:

Assess client challenges and recommend suitable business support, operational or project delivery services rather than using a one size fits all sales approach.

Proposal Development:

Prepare professional proposals, presentations, service summaries and commercial documents tailored to each prospective client.

Sales Pipeline Management:

Maintain accurate records of leads, meetings, opportunities, proposals and expected closing dates using the company CRM system.

Negotiation and Closing:

Lead commercial discussions, respond to objections and negotiate appropriate service terms while protecting company profitability.

Internal Collaboration:

Work closely with operations, finance and service delivery teams to confirm pricing, timelines, staffing requirements and service capabilities.

Market Research:

Monitor industry developments, competitor activity and changing client requirements to identify potential services and growth areas.

Performance Reporting:

Provide regular reports on pipeline activity, conversion rates, revenue forecasts and progress against agreed targets.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience:

At least 4 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, account growth or commercial services. Experience within professional services, outsourcing, consultancy or business support would be advantageous.

Commercial Track Record:

Demonstrable experience of generating qualified opportunities, preparing proposals and converting prospective clients into active accounts.

Communication Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to speak with managers, business owners and senior decision makers.

Relationship Building:

A professional and consultative approach with the ability to establish credibility and maintain productive long term client relationships.

Negotiation Skills:

The ability to discuss pricing, service scope and commercial terms while balancing client expectations with business objectives.

Organisation:

Strong time management and pipeline management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple opportunities and follow up consistently.

Technical Skills:

Confidence using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, presentation software and online research tools.

Mindset:

You are proactive, commercially aware and resilient. You are comfortable working toward targets, but you understand that strong business development depends on trust, preparation and delivering genuine value.

Pay: £2,768.00-£3,943.00 per month
