Full job description

Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen.

Salary: £57,150 - £68,295 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The role

The Technical Services Team is responsible for the project delivery, design, installation, testing and commissioning of Industrial Control Systems, Operational Communications and SCADA field systems that SSEN use to operate our primary and secondary assets across multiple locations across the Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution (SHEPD) licensed area.

You will

Ensure the Distribution network operates to the highest reliability standards through technical management and maintenance of connected SCADA control systems.
Deliver Operational Communication and SCADA systems that monitor and control SHEPD's primary and secondary assets.
Complete all aspects of field SCADA work, including testing, installation, commissioning, maintenance and contractor liaison.
Be safety focused, with a working knowledge of the CDM regulations, and good understanding of Operational Safety Rules and setting to work practices.
Occasionally work away from your base location due to the diverse nature, and sometimes in remote locations.
Participate in a paid out-of-hours Standby Rota, completing all on-call responsibilities associated with the role.

You have

A qualification in a relevant engineering subject (a minimum HNC level is desirable) or relevant experience is acceptable.
Experience configuring and commissioning SCADA systems, RTUs and network communication devices would be beneficial.
An understanding of the application of cyber security on Operational Technology systems.
The ability to identify and rectify faults on SCADA and Telecoms equipment.

This role involves travel across various locations to support business needs. To enable you to fulfil these responsibilities, as a role requirement, the company will provide access to a vehicle for work-related travel.

The requirement will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and if the company car policy criteria are met, there will be an opportunity to join the company car scheme. Provision of a company car or cash allowance does not form part of the contractual terms and conditions of employment for this role.

A valid driving licence is essential.
