Full job description

On behalf of The Insolvency Service, we are looking for a Paralegal (InsideIR35) for a 6 month contract based hybrid (3 days a week) in either London Stratford, Manchester, Birmingham or Newcastle.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with criminal and/or civil litigation experience who are able to work independently and manage a varied caseload from day one.

You will play a key role in supporting prosecution and civil litigation activities, working closely with barristers, solicitors, courts and witnesses to progress cases effectively.

As a Paralegal, your main responsibilities will be to:

Manage a personal caseload of prosecution and civil litigation matters.
Prepare, review and compile documentary evidence for legal proceedings.
Liaise with courts, barristers, solicitors, witnesses and other stakeholders.
Attend criminal courts across England and Wales when required.
Maintain accurate records using case management and document management systems.
Assist with the preparation of legal bundles, correspondence and court documentation.
Ensure cases are progressed efficiently and in line with agreed timescales.
Support wider legal team activities and contribute to key project milestones.
Work collaboratively within a team of Paralegals while maintaining responsibility for your own workload.

Essential:

Significant Paralegal experience within a legal environment.
Strong organisational and case management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Confidence liaising with legal professionals, courts and external stakeholders.

Desirable:

Experience using legal case management or document management systems.
