A rare opportunity has arisen in our 3 rosette award winning restaurant, working closely with a small team.

Nestled in hundreds of acres of ancient parkland, Whittlebury offers an award-winning 254-bedroom four-star hotel, conference, and training centre. We have award winning facilities including a 3 AA Rosette restaurant and a luxurious spa.

Salary: £32,000

What will you do?

As a Murray's Junior Sous chef, you will:

· Manage the Kitchen Department efficiently, maintaining the highest standards of presentation and quality of Cuisine.

· Be responsible for the day-to-day management of all food production.

· Ensure that stock levels are in line with Company requirements and control food stocks each month in co-operation with the Senior Sous Chef / Head Chef.

· Ensure documentation, rotas and other working papers are efficiently completely within Company guidelines and supervise staff in the kitchen department to be responsible for their well-being and morale.

Your hours of work may vary and will include weekends, late evenings, and holiday periods.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

· To adhere to the company's procedures on health, safety, security and hygiene.

· Full awareness and compliance with the fire evacuation, and security procedures for the Hotel.

· Reporting any accidents and potential hazards to the Department Head.

· TRAINING

· To attend any internal or external courses that management may deem beneficial

· To be alive to new ideas and systems which could benefit the department or hotel · To help and advise new staff on all aspects and standards in all job activities.

MAINTAINING IMAGE OF THE HOTEL

· To be smart in appearance and courteous at all times, and to act as an ambassador of the Hotel.

· To be punctual for duty at all times.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES

· To carry out any reasonable requests made by management.

· To be flexible in the duties required by you, by assisting in another department if requested to by Department Head.

· This Job Description cannot be exhaustive due to the requirements of the hotel industry. Therefore, the job holder may be required from time to time to carry out reasonable tasks requested by management.
