Chef – Downtown Restaurant, Grantham

Are you a chef who enjoys creating great food, developing ideas and taking pride in every plate that leaves the kitchen?

Our Restaurant at Downtown Grantham has been serving quality food and drinks to our customers for many years, offering a welcoming place to relax after shopping. We are now entering an exciting period of change and are looking for a creative talented and passionate chef to help shape the next chapter of our food offer.

This is an opportunity for a creative chef who wants to bring their own ideas to the table — from daily specials and seasonal dishes to home baking and improvements that make our customers want to return.

Working closely with our Restaurant management team, you will help drive standards across the kitchen, ensuring every order is prepared with care, consistency and pride.

About the role:

You will:

Lead and support the kitchen team to deliver excellent food quality and service
Take ownership of food preparation, presentation and consistency
Develop ideas for specials, seasonal dishes and homemade products
Work with management on menu ideas, stock control and kitchen requirements
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and HACCP compliance
Help create a positive, organised and efficient kitchen environment
Have the rare opportunity to input menu ideas and enhance skills while earning

About you:

We are looking for a chef who:

Has experience working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment
Takes genuine pride in producing high-quality food
Is creative, reliable and organised
Has a good understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures
Can manage priorities calmly during busy service periods
Enjoys working as part of a team and contributing ideas, whilst also using personal initiative

Full-time hours across five days per week, including weekends on a rota
