About the Role
As a Head Housekeeper, you will lead and coordinate housekeeping, domestic and laundry services across the Home while helping maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, environmental presentation and infection prevention.
You will support and guide Housekeeping and Laundry teams while working collaboratively with care, nursing, catering and maintenance colleagues to create safe, welcoming and person-centred environments.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Environment & Service Delivery
· Coordinate housekeeping and laundry services across the Home.
· Maintain high standards of cleanliness, environmental presentation and hygiene.
· Support welcoming, safe and person-centred environments for residents and visitors.
· Promote resident comfort, dignity and wellbeing through excellent service delivery.
Team Leadership & Operational Coordination
· Coordinate daily housekeeping and laundry activities.
· Provide guidance and support to Housekeeping and Laundry teams.
· Assist with stock control, supplies and environmental standards.
· Support operational effectiveness and service quality across the Home.
Communication & Collaborative Working
· Work collaboratively with care, nursing, catering and maintenance teams.
· Communicate professionally with residents, families and colleagues.
· Support effective teamwork and service coordination.
· Escalate concerns, incidents or environmental risks appropriately.
Compliance, Safety & Environmental Standards
· Promote infection prevention, COSHH and health and safety compliance.
· Support audits, quality checks and environmental inspections.
· Ensure safe use of equipment, chemicals and materials.
· Maintain records and documentation as required.
What We’re Looking For

· Experienced within housekeeping, domestic, laundry, hospitality or environmental services environments
· Organised, professional and highly attentive to detail
· Passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
· Comfortable coordinating workloads and supporting colleagues
· Committed to resident wellbeing, dignity and positive experiences
· Positive, flexible and team-focused in their approach
Desirable Experience
· Experience within healthcare, care home or regulated environments
· COSHH, Infection Prevention and Control or supervisory training
· Experience supporting audits, stock control or environmental quality monitoring
· Experience creating dementia-friendly or wellbeing-focused environments
