Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Manager to oversee the daily operations of our brand new Children's Home. The candidate will initially be overseeing the OFSTED Registration period, and will be expected to continue from there. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in working within the role previously, managing multidisciplinary teams and having had experience working alongside OFSTED.

This leadership role involves ensuring the delivery of exceptional resident care, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a supportive environment for both staff and children. The Registered Manager will play a pivotal role in developing care strategies, supervising staff, and ensuring operational excellence across all departments. The role will include several benefits for the successful applicant, including inspection result bonuses, child retention bonuses, and a signing on bonus of £5,000.

The candidate must be fully aware that First Step is making it's aim to be the best provider of these services in the area, and should expect to be held to a high standard in the role.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the overall operation of the home, ensuring high standards of care and attention to detail are maintained at all times.
Oversee staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management to foster a motivated and competent team.
Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and quality standards governing health and social care services.
Coordinate case management activities to optimise children's outcomes while maintaining efficient utilisation of resources.
Monitor best practices such as medication administration, regulatory knowledge applications, and children's care procedures to uphold safety and regulatory standards.
Facilitate communication between staff, residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to promote transparency and collaborative working.
Manage budgets, oversee administrative tasks, and ensure documentation accuracy in line with organisational policies.
Foster an inclusive environment that supports individuals with disabilities or specific needs such as EBD, ASD, ADHD and more.

Skills

Proven experience in assisted living environments or children's homes with a focus on EBD, ADHD, ASD, county lines, CSE, CCE and more.
Demonstrable expertise in team management and supervising multidisciplinary teams within social care settings.
Strong understanding of case management principles.
Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is heavily advantageous.
Competence in managing complex needs of children, and an understanding of multi and complex needs individuals.
Excellent organisational skills coupled with the ability to lead effectively under pressure.
Compassionate approach combined with excellent communication skills to engage residents’ families and healthcare and social care professionals effectively.

This role offers an opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful difference within our organisation by delivering compassionate, high-quality care while leading a committed team care workers. High remuneration packages are offered on top of the base salary for loyalty, results, retention and positive child outcomes. The role will primarily be based in Huntingdon, however hybrid working, where appropriate is available.

Pay: £55,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
