Service Advisor – MG, Peugeot & Citroën

Budgen Motors – Telford
Full-time | Permanent

About the Role

Budgen Motors is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Service Advisor to join our busy Aftersales team at our Telford dealership, representing the MG, Peugeot and Citroën brands.

As a Service Advisor, you will be the key link between our customers and the workshop, ensuring every customer receives an outstanding experience from the moment they book their vehicle in through to completion and collection.

This is a fast-paced role where excellent organisation, communication and customer service skills are essential. You will need to be confident managing multiple customer requirements, keeping customers updated throughout the repair process and working closely with Technicians, Parts and the Workshop Controller to ensure vehicles are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome customers into the dealership and provide a professional, friendly and welcoming experience.
Manage customer bookings and accurately record all vehicle and customer requirements.
Prepare accurate job cards and ensure all customer concerns are clearly documented.
Conduct vehicle walkarounds and identify any additional work or customer requirements.
Liaise closely with Technicians, Workshop Controllers and Parts teams to ensure jobs progress efficiently.
Keep customers informed throughout the day regarding the progress of their vehicle.
Communicate clearly and professionally regarding diagnostic findings, repairs, costs and timescales.
Prepare and explain repair estimates and obtain the appropriate customer authorisation before additional work is carried out.
Proactively identify and professionally present additional maintenance and repair opportunities.
Ensure customers receive regular updates and that all communication is accurately recorded.
Review vehicle health checks and discuss recommended work with customers.
Coordinate vehicle collection and ensure all work and costs are clearly explained to the customer.
Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, escalating issues where appropriate.
Ensure all customer documentation and manufacturer processes are completed accurately.
Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and work towards achieving excellent CSI results.
Work to agreed departmental targets for labour sales, hours sold, service plans and customer retention.
Ensure all vehicles are progressed efficiently and that customer promises and collection times are met.
Follow all company, manufacturer and health and safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience as a Service Advisor within a motor dealership or automotive environment.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
A professional and confident telephone manner.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Good attention to detail and accurate administration skills.
The ability to explain technical information clearly to customers who may have limited automotive knowledge.
A positive, proactive and commercially aware approach.
The ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy Aftersales environment.
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and customers.
A genuine passion for delivering an excellent customer experience.
A full UK driving licence.

Experience with MG, Peugeot, Citroën or other manufacturer dealer systems would be advantageous, but is not essential.
