About Us

Hubbway Plant Hire is a family-run business with over 60 years of experience in the Plant Hire Industry. Our fleet consists of a variety of plant machinery, including Excavators, Telehandlers, Rollers, Bowsers, and Tractors, which is hired to our customers both self drive and operated.

Job Overview

We are seeking a a highly organised and proactive Haulage Planner to join our team. This role combines general office administration with the planning and coordination of haulage for plant and machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling deliveries and collections, ensuring efficient logistics, and providing administrative support to the business.

Key Responsibilities

Haulage Planning

Plan and schedule wagon deliveries and collections of plant equipment.
Coordinate transport for excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, and other machinery.
Allocate work to drivers and ensure efficient routing.
Monitor transport schedules and respond to any changes or delays.
Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time.
Communicate with site managers, customers, and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain compliance with transport regulations and company procedures.

Administration

Carry out general office administration duties.
Answer telephone calls and respond to emails professionally.
Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
Process paperwork, delivery notes, and transport documentation.
Update company systems with transport and customer information.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and drivers regarding deliveries and collections.
Assist with other administrative tasks as required.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a transport planning role is preferred.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Experience within the haulage, construction, or plant hire industry would be advantageous.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative experience who enjoys coordinating people and ensuring operational processes run smoothly.

Working hours : Monday to Friday (7.30am til 5.30pm) - 47.5 hours per week (1 hour break per day, 30mins paid/30 mins unpaid)

Holidays : 23 days plus public holidays per annum

Pay: Up to £33,000.00 per year
