Full job description

Our client, a well-established residential construction company, is looking to recruit an experienced General Builder to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled builder who is confident managing residential projects from start to finish while remaining hands-on throughout the build. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of current UK Building Regulations and be capable of overseeing site operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out all aspects of general building work on residential projects, including extensions, renovations, refurbishments, and alterations.
Oversee projects from commencement through to completion.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades on site.
Ensure all work complies with current UK Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
Resolve site issues efficiently and keep projects progressing to programme.
Liaise professionally with clients, suppliers, and the wider project team.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience as a General Builder within the residential sector.
Ability to oversee projects while remaining hands-on.
Up-to-date knowledge of UK Building Regulations.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple aspects of a project.
Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

CSCS Card.
SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
Experience delivering residential extensions, refurbishments, and renovation projects.
