Do you have experience supporting people to overcome complex challenges and make positive changes in their lives? Join our New Hope Substance Misuse Recovery Service as a Police, Prison and Probation Liaison Worker helping to improve outcomes for our residents.

This is a fixed-term contract, or secondment opportunity for internal staff, until 31st March 2029.

About you…

As a Police, Prison and Probation Liaison Worker, you will support individuals involved in the criminal justice system, providing structured interventions, harm reduction and recovery-focused support. You will collaborate with the police, prison and probation services to facilitate pathways into treatment and long-term recovery.

You will have a strong understanding of drug and alcohol misuse, its links to offending behaviour and a proven track record of working effectively with this client group. Experience supporting individuals with complex needs is highly desirable.

About the team…

Working for New Hope Substance Misuse Recovery Service team is rewarding yet challenging, offering a supportive and dynamic environment. The team collaborates closely to provide holistic care for individuals overcoming addiction. Working in this setting requires empathy, resilience and dedication. Team members support one another through difficult cases, creating a strong sense of camaraderie. It is a place where professionals can learn from each other while making a tangible difference to the lives of those seeking recovery.

Key responsibilities…

Conduct assessments of individuals (triage, comprehensive) in criminal justice settings such as courts, police stations, probation and prisons.
Perform risk assessments and create risk management plans based on organisational and local protocols.
Increase the number of individuals on Offender Management (IOM) in treatment to reduce re-offending and harm within Bracknell Forest.
Re-engage service users who miss appointments (DNA).
Provide harm reduction interventions, including alcohol advice, brief interventions and Naloxone when needed, while developing initial support plans for service users.
