Full job description

At Cheshire East we’re offering a rare opportunity to help shape the strategic direction of a system in transformation and to play a defining role in the next chapter for children and families in Cheshire East as we build something special, to last.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Policy and Procedures Officer, based at Delamere House, Crewe. Developing, maintaining, and communicating policies and procedures that support consistent, legally compliant, and best practice-aligned delivery across children’s services.

About the Role:

The role leads policy reviews, undertakes legislative research, coordinates governance and training, provides expert advice to practitioners, and designs accessible learning materials to embed updated policies across the workforce.

In this role you will lead on:

Policy Development & Writing
Policy Governance and Oversight
Training Strategy & Delivery
Change Programme Support
Research, Legislation & Best Practice
Stakeholder Consultation & Focus Groups
Monitoring, Evaluation & Improvement
Presentation & Governance Reporting
Awareness Raising & Practice Advice
Staff & Service Engagement
Training Materials & Accessible Information
Workload & Demand Management

The successful candidate will bring:

Advanced education qualification or equivalent professional experience with strong numerical, verbal and written skills.
Extensive experience working in Children’s Services or related field developing policies, procedures or strategies.
Demonstrable skills of influencing, negotiating and managing complex conversations.
Experience of independent working, managing conflicting and competing deadlines.
Experience of writing high-quality policies, procedures and strategies supporting organisational change or improved practice.
Experience of developing and delivering training and presentations to diverse audiences, translating complex information for specialists and not-specialists.
An understanding of policy development and implementation in the context of children’s services.
Demonstrable development and maintenance of positive working relationships.
Experience of producing
