Full job description

Purpose of the Role

The Script Restaurant & Bar Supervisor is a hands-on leadership role responsible for running the floor to a consistently high standard. You will lead the team during service, keep the restaurant looking sharp and operating smoothly, and ensure every guest leaves with a positive, memorable experience.

The role is built around four core pillars: High Performance, Dedication, Leadership & Influence, and Unrelenting High Standards.

You will lead by example, communicate clearly, keep the team productive at all times, and constantly look for ways to improve the look, cleanliness, service and overall experience of the restaurant. Strong multi-department collaboration — particularly with the kitchen and golf teams — is essential to keep service flowing smoothly.

1. High Performance

High performance means running an efficient, well-organised floor where the team is always purposeful and the operation runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Own and deliver the daily briefing sheets — ensure the team is fully briefed on reservations, specials, allergens, VIP guests, events and any operational priorities before every service.
Keep the team busy and productive at all times. — allocate tasks, rotate jobs and maintain a high work rate throughout the shift.
Actively manage the floor during service: seating, timing, section balance, and ensuring the flow of the restaurant stays controlled and efficient.
Maintain clear and proactive communication with the kitchen throughout service to ensure food is delivered on time and to the correct standard.
Speak regularly with the golf team to stay informed of course activity, player numbers and any issues that may affect restaurant trade or service.
Assist with stock counts, ordering and basic inventory control as required.
Support line cleaning, deep cleans and end-of-shift cleaning routines to the required standard.
Step in wherever needed — serving, running, clearing, bar support or kitchen liaison — to keep service moving.
Monitor and maintain the overall condition of the restaurant during service (tables, floors, glassware, cutlery, presentation of the room).

2. Dedication

Dedication means taking full ownership of your shifts and showing consistent commitment to the restaurant and the team.

Key Responsibilities

Be reliable, punctual and fully prepared for every shift.
Take complete ownership of the floor on your shifts, including opening and closing duties.
Complete all required paperwork and handover notes accurately and on time.
Support stock counts, ordering and basic stock control when required.
Remain flexible and willing to cover different areas of the operation as needed.
Continuously look for small improvements in the day-to-day running of the restaurant and take action on them.
Represent Script positively at all times, both on and off shift.

3. Leadership & Influence

Leadership is about setting the tone, communicating clearly, and getting the best out of the team — both within the restaurant and across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the team with clear communication and direction — brief well, check in regularly, and give constructive feedback.
Ensure every team member knows what is expected of them and stays focused throughout the shift.
Keep standards high by coaching in the moment — correct poor habits quickly and fairly, and praise good work.
Make sure the team remains busy and purposeful at all times. Anticipate quiet periods and allocate productive tasks (cleaning, restocking, polishing, side work, etc.).
Actively collaborate with the kitchen team — communicate clearly and regularly to ensure food is delivered on time, orders are accurate, and any issues are resolved quickly.
Maintain open communication with the golf team so the restaurant is prepared for player volume, groups, and any changes that affect service.
Support the development of team members through clear direction, feedback and setting a strong example.
Handle guest issues calmly and professionally, taking ownership and resolving problems where possible.
Work collaboratively across departments to keep the whole guest experience joined-up and smooth.

4. Unrelenting High Standards

Unrelenting high standards means never accepting mediocrity in the look of the restaurant, the cleanliness, the service or the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Constantly monitor and improve the appearance of the restaurant — tables, floors, glassware, cutlery, soft furnishings, lighting and overall presentation.
Drive high standards of cleanliness at all times, including during service and at the end of shift (line cleaning, side work, deep clean tasks).
Ensure service standards are consistently met — warm welcomes, attentive service, correct timing, accurate orders and a polished finish to every table.
Challenge anything that falls short of the expected standard, whether it is a messy section, poor presentation, slow service or a team member not pulling their weight.
Maintain a high personal standard of appearance, professionalism and energy that sets the example for the rest of the team.
Continuously look for ways to improve the guest experience through better organisation, attention to detail and proactive service.

Day-to-Day Expectations

Own the briefing process and ensure the team is properly prepared before every service.
Keep the team busy and focused at all times.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the shift.
Communicate actively and clearly with the kitchen to ensure food is delivered on time.
Speak regularly with the golf team to stay ahead of course activity and player numbers.
Assist with stock counts, ordering and basic inventory tasks.
Support line cleaning and end-of-shift cleaning routines.
Lead by example.
Take ownership of the floor and resolve issues as they arise.
Always look for ways to improve the look, cleanliness, service and overall experience of the restaurant.

Pay: £29,000.00 per year
