Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the culinary and hospitality sectors. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential.

Duties

Washing, cleaning, and sterilising pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
Supporting chefs with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment to ensure efficient kitchen workflow.
Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift.
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Ensuring all health and safety policies are adhered to at all times within the kitchen environment.
Supporting the team during busy periods by helping with serving or other general duties as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen hygiene standards is advantageous.
Experience in hospitality or serving roles can be beneficial for understanding customer service expectations.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.
