Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a good relationship with people living with the daily effects of dementia. We provide access to an Adult day service five days per week Hours will be 4 per day, split between morning and afternoon.

Responsibilities

Operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles, including oil changes, tyre pressure, and fluid levels to ensure optimal performance.
Deliver group members to Harwood Court promptly while maintaining safe driving standards
Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding pick Up and drop off schedules and any potential issues.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times.
Assist in access and egress of group members with dementia as required, ensuring safety and stability.
Must be able to work on their own initiative.

Experience

Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance tasks on vehicles is desirable
Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and team members effectively.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times
Ability to be supportive, helpful and respectful of people with dementia.
