The Opportunity
Our Solutions and Optimisation team are looking for an experienced Warehouse Solutions Design Manager where you will be at the forefront of transforming our M&S warehousing network. This pivotal role will see you designing, modelling and simulating smart, scalable and cost-effective solutions that power operational excellence and continuous Improvement objectives.
In this role you will partner with central and operational teams to turn big ideas into measurable results that directly align to business goals. We want dynamic, curious, creative and innovative individuals that will challenge thinking and embed solutions that scream best in class!
What you'll be doing
Reporting directly into the Head of Warehouse Design and Compliance you will blend deep operational insights with sharp analytical thinking and bold innovation, you will create high impact strategies that elevate performance, enhance customer service and drive efficiency across the business.
Working across the network you will stress test current working practices and provide innovative and creative solutions, where you will provide practical and analytical justifications enabling the effective delivery of warehousing and distribution improvement projects. You will analyse, model and simulate warehouse operations to test throughput, labour productivity and space utilisation and define solutions and recommendations for warehouse design and future improvements with considerations for cost, ROI, service and scalability.
You will also oversee all design documentation, proposal development and approval processes to ensure that the approach is efficient, effective and best in class!
What we're looking for
To be successful in your application you will already be operating as a Warehouse Solutions Design Manager with a proven track record of warehouse modelling, warehouse layout design, simulation tools, and stress and scenario testing. You will be proficient in building and validating operational models, proposing effective operational strategies to optimise warehouse performance, resource utilization and service outcomes.
It goes without saying that you will be an excellent communicator, influencer and problem solver with strong analytical, financial modelling, and commercial skills, and knowledgeable in warehouse operations ideally within a fast paced and changing logistics or supply chain environment. You will be proficient in MS Office Packages, in particular Excel and PowerPoint, experienced in solution design tools such as AutoCAD, Sketch Up and able to demonstrate innovative and creative solutions through emerging industry technologies, trends and solutions.
Role details:
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum, Car Allowance and Private Medical
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Location/Travel: Nationwide across the UK – As there will be a travel requirement across our network, we are flexible with the location however your base location will be your closest site working in line with our hybrid working policy.
