Business Development Executive (Field Sales) – Get Out on the Road & Win Business

Location: Southampton and the South Coast (field-based)
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £30,000–£40,000 basic, depending on experience
Hours: 7:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break
Package: Company Car or Car Allowance + Fuel Card + Uncapped Bonus Scheme
Benefits: Uncapped bonus scheme, Regular team events, Christmas shutdown

The Role

Reform Electrical Distributors is a fast-growing independent electrical wholesaler based in Southampton. We win business by being quicker, sharper and easier to deal with than the nationals.

We’ve recently achieved our first £1 million trading month and are continuing to expand across the South Coast.

We are looking for a Business Development Executive who wants to get out on the road, win business and build a strong customer base of their own.

The Opportunity: Direct Impact & Autonomy

You won’t be a cog in a corporate machine. You will work directly with the Company Directors to help shape and deliver our sales strategy.

We’ll give you the tools, trust and freedom to take ownership and make things happen.

As Reform continues to grow, there will be genuine opportunities to progress into senior sales, key account management and leadership roles.

The Day-to-Day

This is a hands-on, relationship-driven sales role. You’ll typically be out of the office 3–4 days a week.

In the Field (75%)

You’ll visit electrical contractors, M&E contractors, commercial customers and industrial businesses across the South Coast.

Your focus will be to:

Generate new business
Open new trading accounts
Reactivate dormant customers
Build long-term relationships
Become the first call your customers make

Most days will be spent meeting customers, visiting sites and creating new opportunities.

In the Branch (25%)

You’ll work closely with our internal sales team to convert opportunities into orders and ensure every account receives the support it needs.

Open new accounts every month
Build a solid ledger of regular customers
Become the key contact for your accounts
Consistently grow your territory

Essential Requirement

Full UK Driving Licence

Electrical wholesale or field sales experience is desirable but not essential.
