Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals with Autism. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to promote independence, safety, and well-being within their homes or out in the community. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, behaviour support, ensuring a respectful and nurturing environment. Prior experience working with individuals with Autism and learning disabilities is highly desirable. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalised support and care.

Responsibilities

Assist service users with daily living activities and accessing the community.
Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental health and well-being.
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, behaviours observed, and any incidents.
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Support clients during outings or appointments, including driving when necessary.
Respond promptly to emergencies or changes in client condition, following established protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including case managers, and family members to deliver comprehensive care.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities.
Certifications in first aid are highly advantageous.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage empathetically with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Valid driving licence is preferred for supporting clients outside the home setting.
Organised with excellent attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and following care plans.
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for individuals needing support.
