Full job description

About the Role

A supply chain can look straightforward on a spreadsheet, but behind every delivery is a sequence of purchase orders, supplier updates, stock checks, transport arrangements, and deadlines that need to stay aligned.

As a Supply Chain Coordinator, you will help manage the flow of goods and information from suppliers through to delivery. You will monitor orders, maintain accurate records, coordinate with purchasing and logistics partners, and deal with issues that could affect availability or delivery schedules.

The role combines practical coordination with data and administrative work. On a typical day, you might be checking outstanding purchase orders, following up with a supplier about a delayed shipment, updating delivery information, reviewing inventory levels, or helping resolve an invoice or documentation discrepancy.

Responsibilities

Monitor purchase orders from placement through to delivery.
Contact suppliers to confirm availability, lead times, dispatch dates, and delivery schedules.
Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, supplier, and shipment records.
Track inbound deliveries and investigate delays or discrepancies.
Coordinate with logistics providers, warehouses, suppliers, and internal departments.
Update ERP or supply chain systems with order and delivery information.
Help identify stock shortages and escalate potential supply issues.
Assist with preparing purchase orders and processing approved procurement requests.
Check delivery documentation against purchase orders and supplier information.
Support the resolution of damaged, missing, incorrect, or delayed deliveries.
Maintain supplier contact information and relevant commercial documentation.
Assist with invoice queries where quantities, pricing, or delivery details require clarification.
Prepare routine supply chain reports covering outstanding orders, delivery performance, and stock availability.
Monitor expected delivery dates and follow up when supplier commitments change.
Support periodic stock reviews and inventory reconciliation activities.
Work with internal teams to prioritise urgent supply requirements.
Assist with identifying opportunities to improve ordering and delivery processes.

Qualifications

Previous experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, purchasing, inventory control, or operations administration is preferred.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several orders and deadlines simultaneously.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Experience using ERP, purchasing, inventory, or warehouse systems would be advantageous.
Comfortable communicating with suppliers and logistics providers by email and telephone.
Strong attention to detail when handling quantities, dates, purchase orders, and delivery records.
Ability to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of basic purchasing and supply chain processes is beneficial.
Previous experience working with invoices, supplier documentation, or stock records would be useful.

Pay: £2,700.00-£3,000.00 per month
