Full job description

To lead and oversee the operations, development, and strategic direction of student accommodation services, ensuring high standards of service delivery, financial performance, and team leadership. The role is pivotal in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging living environment that aligns with the Aspires values and supports student wellbeing and success.

Key Objectives

Ensure operational excellence across all student living services.
Drive business growth and strategic initiatives.
Maintain financial control and achieve revenue targets.
Foster a high-performing, motivated team culture.
Promote a safe, ethical, and student-focused environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily operations across accommodation, facilities, and support services to ensure smooth and efficient performance.
Develop and implement strategic plans, business goals, and KPIs aligned with the company’s vision and student needs.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to meet revenue and cost objectives.
Collaborate with HR to manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance development of staff.
Monitor compliance with health and safety standards, safeguarding policies, and regulatory requirements.
Build strong relationships with students, universities, and external partners to enhance service delivery and reputation.
Prepare and present operational and financial reports to senior management and company directors.
Respond to student feedback, incidents, and emergencies with professionalism and care.

Other Responsibilities

Uphold and promote the organisation’s values, including ethics, integrity, health and safety, and corporate social responsibility.
Ensure adherence to internal policies and the Aspire Code of Conduct.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of student living.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior leadership or management role, ideally within student accommodation, hospitality, or property management.
Strong understanding of operational functions including finance, HR, compliance, and customer service.
Strategic thinker with excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant industry software (e.g., property management systems, CRM platforms).
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and lead with empathy and resilience.
