Full job description

Logistics done differently.

We’re currently recruiting for a Cross Dock Manager to organise and lead our warehouse function at our central, shared-user-network site. With a team of 23 warehouse staff - predominantly FLT drivers - you’ll ensure that we are diligent in getting our pallets correctly labelled, loaded and dispatched, achieving our customer KPIs in a timely manner.

We currently run 54 vehicles from the site, covering collections, deliveries and trunking. The day team operates Monday-Friday, and we’re looking for someone to manage their own 45 hour week, start times may vary dependant on site/warehouse requirements. This is a split day / night role dependant on shift requirements / challenges.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £43,750 Inc shift allowance, per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

Lead and drive the warehouse operation from the front, ensuring compliance, performance and the delivery of a world-class service to our customer
Drive communication, engagement and continuous improvement throughout the warehouse with a constant focus on reviewing and improving processes
Work with the site management team to ensure that the operational plan is in line with budget
Maintain communication with the transport team on site to ensure we’re on track for driver dispatch
Manage labour resource effectively, to achieve correct balance between loading delivery vehicles and trunk vehicles, unloading collections and yard management

What you need to succeed at XPO:

Previous experience within a palletised warehouse environment or cross-dock is essential
Experience in leading, managing and developing staff
The ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and customers
