Full job description

Chronicle is a UK provider of workforce management and time & attendance software, helping organisations control labour costs, ensure compliance, and streamline payroll. Our solutions are used by organisations across multiple sectors, and we continue to grow.

We are seeking a commercially minded Account Manager who will become an expert in Chronicle’s platform and use that expertise to support customers, drive adoption, and develop additional revenue within existing accounts.

This is a consultative, relationship-focused role — not a scripted sales position.

The Role

You will initially focus on developing deep product knowledge and supporting customers, before taking responsibility for account growth and commercial development.

Product Expertise & Customer Support

Develop a strong understanding of Chronicle’s software and real-world use cases
Support customers in using the system effectively and efficiently
Provide guidance on configuration, features, and best practice
Work closely with delivery, support, and development teams
Build credibility as a trusted product specialist

Account Management & Retention

Build strong, long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders
Conduct regular account reviews to ensure satisfaction and value
Support renewals and minimise churn
Identify risks early and coordinate solutions
Act as a primary commercial contact for assigned accounts

Account Growth & Commercial Development

Identify opportunities for upgrades, additional modules, licences, and services
Promote relevant new features and capabilities to customers
Generate expansion opportunities within your account portfolio
Support the sales team on larger opportunities when required
Contribute directly to revenue growth

About You

We are looking for someone analytical, personable, and commercially aware who can engage credibly with business customers.

Essential

Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to learn complex software systems
Professional, confident, and customer-focused
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Self-motivated and proactive

Desirable

Experience in software, SaaS, or technical customer roles
Account management, customer success, or consulting experience
Understanding of HR, payroll, or workforce management systems
Technical aptitude or systems background
Familiarity with CRM systems

Compensation & Commission

Competitive base salary
Uncapped commission on additional revenue generated from your customer accounts
Commission paid on upgrades, additional modules, licences, and services
Earnings linked directly to the commercial growth of your account portfolio
