Full job description

General Manager – Logistics & Distribution

Location: Mallusk, Northern Ireland

BradEx is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our logistics and distribution operation through its next stage of growth. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on operational excellence, people management and driving positive cultural change across the business.

Reporting directly to the owner, you will lead an established management team, identify and implement operational improvements, and have the authority to make changes where necessary to improve performance and accountability. You will be responsible for strengthening driver recruitment and retention, developing our management team, improving communication and delivering continuous improvements across all areas of the business.

This is a key leadership role for an individual who is passionate about building high-performing teams, improving operational efficiency and creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring the highest standards of customer service, safety and efficiency.
Provide leadership and direction to the management team, developing a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Review existing processes and implement operational improvements to maximise efficiency and profitability.
Develop and mentor managers, ensuring they have the skills, support and accountability to succeed.
Lead initiatives to improve driver recruitment, retention and employee engagement.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing action plans where required.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
Ensure full compliance with all transport, health & safety and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with the owner to deliver the company's strategic objectives and long-term growth plans.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

Significant senior management experience within logistics, distribution, transport or FMCG operations.
A proven track record of successfully leading operational teams through change and delivering measurable business improvements.
Exceptional leadership, coaching and people management skills.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational performance and profitability.
The confidence to make decisions, challenge existing practices and drive positive change.
Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
A hands-on leadership style with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop people at all levels.
