Full job description

We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic and organised Children & Family Activities Co-ordinator to join our team and develop a welcoming programme of activities and events for children, young people and their families.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and families and enjoys bringing people together through fun, engaging and inclusive activities.

About the role

As Children & Family Activities Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for planning, organising and delivering a varied programme of activities for children and families. You will help create a safe, friendly and inclusive environment where children can learn, play, socialise and develop new skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and co-ordinating regular activities, workshops, clubs and family events.
Developing new and creative activities that meet the interests and needs of local children and families.
Promoting activities through social media, posters, newsletters and community networks.
Welcoming families and building positive relationships with children, parents, carers and partner organisations.
Working with volunteers, activity leaders and other members of staff to deliver successful sessions.
Ensuring activities are inclusive and accessible to children and families from a range of backgrounds.
Maintaining appropriate records, attendance information and feedback.
Supporting the organisation of school holiday programmes and special events.
Ensuring activities are delivered in line with safeguarding, health and safety and organisational policies.
Gathering feedback from families and using this to continually improve our programme.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience of working with children, families or within a community setting.
Is enthusiastic, approachable and able to engage confidently with children and adults.
Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
Is creative and able to develop fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities.
Can work independently while also being an effective member of a team.
Is reliable, flexible and able to manage several activities or events at the same time.
Understands the importance of safeguarding and creating safe environments for children.
Is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Has a positive, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for helping children and families thrive.

A relevant qualification or experience in childcare, youth work, education, community development or a related field would be an advantage.
