Company Overview

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Paint Inspector to join our team in. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the quality and durability of our steel structures through meticulous inspection and adherence to safety standards. Join us to contribute to some of the most significant construction projects in the region.

Responsibilities

Surface Preparation Verification:

Inspect and approve surfaces prior to painting, ensuring proper cleaning, abrasive blasting, and surface profile are achieved

Environmental & Equipment Monitoring:

Verify that temperature, humidity, and dew point are within acceptable ranges. Conduct blotter tests for oil and water in compressed air lines

Coating Application Inspection:

Monitor paint mixing, thinning, and application methods (spray, brush, or roller) to ensure compliance with project specifications

Testing & Evaluation:

Perform quality checks including wet/dry film thickness, adhesion, and holiday/pinhole testing

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed inspection logs, manage photographic documentation, and generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for any defects

Qualifications

Proven experience in paint inspection or quality assurance within the construction or manufacturing industry.
Deep understanding of coating systems, corrosion control, technical drawings, and industry standards (e.g., SSPC, ASTM,ISO)
Ability to properly calibrate and operate inspection tools such as surface profile gauges, Psychrometers, and Pfund gauges
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Relevant certifications in paint inspection or quality assurance are preferred.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to industrial painting processes.
Typically requires 3-5+ years in a quality assurance/coating inspection role, particularly in heavy industries
