Full job description

Role: Centre Administrator

Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £24,552 and £26,754 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 30 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Part Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Centre Administrator to join our Central Administration department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Centre Administrator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

Administrative & Customer Support - Provide professional administrative assistance, deliver excellent customer service, and support the department in meeting service standards.
Frontline Communication - Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, handling telephone calls and welcoming visitors to the department.
Business & Operational Support - Support managers and teaching staff by producing professional documents, managing correspondence, organising trips, and maintaining office supplies and resources.
Student Data & Examination Administration - Maintain accurate student records, use College systems, and assist with exam registrations, learner progression, invigilation, and certificate administration.
Compliance & Professional Standards - Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety, and actively participate in training and development activities.

About you:

Qualifications & Technical Skills - Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with recognised IT qualifications and strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet-based systems.
Administration & Customer Service Experience - Experienced in office administration, customer-facing environments, record management, data entry, report production, and the use of both computerised and manual systems.
Organisation & Communication - Able to manage a varied workload, meet deadlines, take accurate minutes, proofread documents to a high standard, and communicate professionally in person, by phone, and in writing. Has own transport, with the ability to travel to other Tresham campuses on an ad-hoc basis.
Teamwork, Initiative & Professionalism - Demonstrates reliability, high performance, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, contribute positively to a team, and uphold the organisation's values and professional reputation.
Safeguarding, Flexibility & Compliance - Committed to safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, continuous learning, flexible working, travel between locations, and supporting events outside normal working hours when required.
