About Us

We are a small firm of Chartered Accountants based in Camden. Having been operating for 35+ years, we are well established and highly skilled in the industry. We have a strong emphasis on keeping up to date with the latest changes in technology, utilising the newest AI wherever we can. There are 10 members in our team, with many working from home. Our clients are numerous and varied, with a focus on the music industry.

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and/or qualified Practice Bookkeeper to join our team for 12 to 18 months while some staff are off sick and on maternity leave. The job entails varied responsibilities from data entry, reconciliations, VAT Returns, MTD Income Tax Returns, preparing forms, corresponding with clients and agencies, reviewing junior working papers and tax research. There is much overlap with the other members of the team, so you will have support and others to rely on in all of your duties. The ideal candidate should be proficient in written and communication skills, with an openness to learning new software programs and processes.

Responsibilities:

Be able to input and reorganise data in spreadsheets, both Google and Excel.
Analyse bank statements in spreadsheet format.
Importing spreadsheets such as bank statements into accountancy software.
Bank and credit card reconciliations in Xero.
Understanding and reconciling contra accounts.
Keeping sales and purchase ledger accounts up to date in Xero, including raising invoices.
Reviewing and filing VAT Returns in Xero and other accounting programs such as GoFile.
Preparing, reviewing and filing MTD Income Tax quarterly returns.
Liaising with customers and suppliers for supporting documentation.
Gathering data for compliance paperwork.
Filling out various forms for HMRC and other agencies.
Contacting HMRC to discuss issues that arise.
Emailing clients and drafting general correspondence.
Answering phone calls.
Using AI, particularly Claude and Gemini, for research, guidance, help with correspondence and data analysis.
Preparing time sheets and task record keeping.
Prepare and use checklists.
Scan and electronically file documents.
Organising staff video meetings.

Schedule:

7 hour shift

Pay: £29,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
