Full job description

Health and Safety Office

For the last 30 years, GB Group has gained a reputation for successfully delivering minor and major building projects.

We can now offer the opportunity for Health and Safety Officer to join our operation based out of our head office in Hereford.

Working under our HSEQ Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:

Carrying out H&S on site audits across all operating regions.
Monitoring the audit functions delivered by electrical and gas safety managers accurately cover the regional offices and teams.
Carrying out accident or incident investigations, compile reports, carry out any follow up actions or monitoring and produce statistics.
To assist with the onboarding of new subcontractors.
Supporting regional teams with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
To support all new starter inductions across GB regional operations.
Producing monthly SHEF summary statistics for both GB management and various clients.
Ensuring that all H&S briefings and toolbox talk communications are all effectively delivered and responses returned from all GB regional teams and subcontractors.
Assisting the HSEQ manager with all company accreditation renewals, and client audits.
Assisting with, and promoting the company’s adherence to ISO9001, ISO140001, and ISO45001 certifications taking appropriate action where necessary to maintain the company’s quality standards.
Conduct respiratory protective equipment ‘face fit’ testing and training for our workforce. (Training provided)

The ideal candidate will have:

IOSH Working Safely or IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
A desire to work towards their NEBOSH certification.
Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels throughout the business.
General computer literacy as well as the ability to use training aids such as projectors or linked screens.
The ability to work under their own initiative, remotely where required and organise their own activities to make best use of their time and abilities.
A full clean UK driving licence.

Package:

Company van, fuel card, laptop / tablet, mobile phone and uniform are all provided.
42.5 hours a week.
Salary - £30,000 per annum.
25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays.
