Group Sous Chef

Dean Banks Group | St Andrews & Edinburgh

Help shape some of Scotland's most exciting kitchens.

The Dean Banks Group is home to a collection of award-winning restaurants across Scotland, from Michelin Guide restaurants and AA Rosette dining to innovative seafood and Mediterranean concepts.

We're looking for an experienced, ambitious and highly organised Group Sous Chef to work across our restaurants in St Andrews and Edinburgh, supporting our Head Chefs to deliver exceptional food, maintain consistency and develop our talented kitchen teams.

This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who enjoys variety, thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to play a key role in maintaining standards across multiple successful venues.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Chef team, you'll work closely with each Head Chef to ensure consistency of food quality, presentation and kitchen operations across the group.

You'll spend time in each venue supporting services, developing chefs, assisting with menu implementation and ensuring every kitchen operates to the highest standards.

No two weeks will be the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys adapting to different teams and environments while maintaining a calm, positive and solutions-focused approach.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

Has experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a quality restaurant.
Has strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Is passionate about consistency, quality and attention to detail.
Can confidently step into different kitchens and quickly become part of the team.
Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
Is confident managing busy services and supporting multiple teams.
Has a genuine passion for developing people and sharing knowledge.
Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred).

Key Responsibilities

Work alongside Head Chefs across St Andrews and Edinburgh.
Maintain food quality, consistency and presentation standards.
Support kitchen teams during busy services.
Assist with menu launches, recipe implementation and staff training.
Mentor junior chefs and support career development.
Monitor food safety, hygiene and HACCP compliance.
Help manage stock, ordering and food cost controls.
Ensure kitchens consistently deliver the standards expected across the Dean Banks Group.
