School of Coding & AI is one of the UK’s fastest growing education providers, delivering high quality, career focused programmes across Business, Coding, Computer Science & AI, STEM, Health and Social Care.

Established in 2017, we work with schools, colleges, universities and employers to provide education that leads to real outcomes. Our focus is simple, student first, always.

We have partnered with the University of Wolverhampton and Harper Adams University to launch our first Higher Education Institute. As we continue to grow across the UK and internationally, we are building a strong academic team to deliver high quality teaching, support excellent student outcomes and help shape the future of technology focused education.

We are now looking for a Computing & Information Technology Lecturer to join our academic team and support the delivery of our Higher Education provision.

About The Role

The Computing & Information Technology Lecturer will be responsible for delivering engaging, high quality teaching across Computing and IT related modules, supporting students to develop the technical knowledge, academic confidence and practical skills needed to succeed.

This role will suit someone who can make complex concepts accessible, bring subject knowledge to life and support a diverse student group with different levels of confidence, experience and learning needs.

Alongside Computing and IT delivery, the role will also involve teaching A Level Maths and Practical Engineering Science, including Electro Mechanical Design. This means we are looking for someone with strong technical breadth, a flexible teaching approach and the confidence to support learners across more than one subject area.

What You’ll Be Doing

Deliver high quality teaching across Computing, Information Technology and related technical modules.
Plan and deliver clear, engaging lessons that are aligned to learning outcomes and support strong student progress.
Teach A Level Maths and Practical Engineering Science, including Electro Mechanical Design, as part of the wider curriculum offer.
Use a range of teaching methods to support students with different learning styles, academic backgrounds and levels of confidence.
Create a positive, inclusive and professional learning environment where students feel supported, challenged and able to succeed.
Prepare, review and improve learning materials so they remain current, accessible and aligned with programme requirements.
Ensure teaching content reflects changes in technology, industry practice and academic standards.
Set, mark and provide clear feedback on assessments in line with institutional policies and quality standards.
Monitor student attendance, engagement and progress, taking appropriate action where additional support may be needed.
Provide academic guidance to help students build confidence, develop technical understanding and stay on track with their studies.
Work closely with lecturers, subject leads, academic managers and external partners to support consistent delivery standards.
Contribute to quality assurance activity, meetings, training and wider departmental objectives as required.

What You’ll Bring

Essential

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Computing, IT or a relevant technical subject.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching in Higher Education or a similar academic environment.
Strong subject knowledge across Computing and Information Technology.
Confident delivering engaging teaching to a diverse student group.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage teaching, marking, records and student support effectively.
A student focused approach, with a genuine interest in helping learners progress and succeed.
Availability to teach at weekends where required.
Ability to teach three or more of the following areas:
Programming
Database Systems
Data Analysis
Big Data
Artificial Intelligence
Cybersecurity
Cloud Computing
Networking
IT Management

Desirable

Master’s degree, or equivalent professional qualification, in Computing, Information Technology or a related discipline.
PGCE, Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or willingness to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching A Level Maths.
Experience teaching Practical Engineering Science, particularly Electro Mechanical Design.
Experience supporting international students or learners from varied academic backgrounds.
Knowledge of current trends in computing, digital technologies, AI, cyber security or data driven practice.
