Full job description

Location: Preston Suburb
Pay: £16.00–£18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Help build something from the very beginning.

We're inspired by the warmth, simplicity and relaxed hospitality found in some of Europe's best cafés and neighbourhood restaurants. We're looking for a chef who shares that appreciation and wants to help bring that experience to our local community.

We're launching a brand-new independent hospitality concept and we're looking for an ambitious Head Chef to join us before we open our doors.

This isn't about stepping into an established kitchen and following someone else's way of doing things. It's an opportunity to help shape a new business from the ground up.

We've developed the vision, the brand and an initial menu direction. Now we're looking for the right chef to bring their experience, challenge our thinking where needed and help turn great ideas into a kitchen that works brilliantly in practice.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside the owners to refine and develop the menu.
Advising on dishes, prep methods and service to ensure the menu is commercially viable and operationally efficient.
Costing recipes and helping achieve strong gross profit margins without compromising quality.
Helping design kitchen systems, prep schedules and service procedures before launch.
Help select suppliers and establish ordering processes.
Help recruiting, training and leading the kitchen team.
Driving consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and cleanliness.
Leading the kitchen through an exciting launch and beyond.

About you

You may already be a Head Chef looking for a fresh challenge, or you could be an experienced Sous Chef who's ready to take the next step.

What matters most is that you:

Love producing fresh, quality food.
Understand how to balance creativity with commercial reality.
Are organised, calm and lead by example.
Take pride in building systems that help a kitchen run smoothly.
Want to be part of something from the very beginning rather than simply maintaining the status quo.
Enjoy collaborating and sharing ideas.
