About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join our team and oversee high-volume kitchen and bathroom refurbishment programmes across Birmingham.
This is a key role within our delivery team, responsible for supervising either the front end or back end of the programme, ensuring works are completed safely, to a high standard, on programme and in accordance with the specification.
The successful candidate will be overseeing a significant weekly workload of up to 10 kitchens and 10 bathrooms, working closely with our Project Managers, Site Managers, operatives, subcontractors, tenants and client representatives.
Trade knowledge is highly desirable. A strong understanding of kitchen and bathroom refurbishment works will allow you to effectively identify issues, challenge poor workmanship, coordinate trades and keep the programme moving.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate kitchen and bathroom refurbishment works across Birmingham.
* Manage either the front end or back end of the weekly programme.
* Oversee up to 10 kitchen and 10 bathroom refurbishments per week.
* Coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors.
* Monitor progress against the programme and ensure properties remain on schedule.
* Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks.
* Identify and resolve issues before they affect programme delivery.
* Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, RAMS and client requirements.
* Monitor workmanship and ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
* Check properties at key stages of the refurbishment process.
* Identify and manage defects and ensure they are rectified promptly.
* Coordinate access to properties and work effectively within occupied social housing environments.
* Maintain good communication with tenants, client representatives and internal management.
* Ensure all operatives and subcontractors are working safely and in accordance with company procedures.
* Monitor site housekeeping, PPE and general Health & Safety compliance.
* Complete site records, inspections, photographs and relevant documentation.
* Attend meetings with the Project Manager and wider delivery team.
* Escalate programme, resource, quality or technical issues when required.
* Help maintain weekly completion targets and contribute to continuous improvement of the programme.
Front-End / Back-End Supervision
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising one side of the refurbishment programme.
Front-End Supervisor
Responsible for ensuring properties are properly prepared and that the refurbishment starts correctly, including:
* Pre-start checks
* Strip-out and demolition
* Asbestos-related controls
* Initial plumbing and electrical works
* First-fix activities
* Plastering and preparation
* Coordination of trades
* Kitchen and bathroom installation
Back-End Supervisor
Responsible for ensuring properties move efficiently through the final stages, including:
* Second-fix plumbing and electrical works
* Flooring
* Decorating
* Final fixtures and fittings
* Testing and certification
* Cleaning
* Quality inspections
* Snagging
* Final completion and handover
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
* Proven experience working as a Site Supervisor / Site Manager within construction or refurbishment.
* Experience supervising multiple properties or workstreams.
* Experience within kitchen and/or bathroom refurbishment is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of construction and refurbishment trades.
* Ability to understand construction sequences and identify technical issues.
* SMSTS, SSSTS or equivalent relevant qualification.
* CSCS card – relevant to the position.
* Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
* Ability to read and understand RAMS, drawings and specifications.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple properties and priorities simultaneously.
* Full UK driving licence.

* Decent Homes / housing refurbishment programmes

* Working with major contractors or housing associations
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and commercially aware, but most importantly, someone who understands construction and can confidently manage trades on site.
You will need to be comfortable walking into a property, identifying what needs to happen next, challenging poor workmanship and making decisions to keep the programme moving.
Trade knowledge is a major advantage for this role. You don’t need to be a specialist in every trade, but you should understand how kitchens, bathrooms, plumbing, electrical, plastering, tiling, flooring and decorating works come together as part of a refurbishment programme.
This is a busy role and would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple properties and delivering against clear weekly targets.

The successful candidate will be expected to help deliver:
Up to 10 kitchens per week
Up to 10 bathrooms per week
Working as part of the wider delivery team to ensure properties move through the programme efficiently from initial preparation through to final handover.
