We are looking for a Project Manager - Customer Programmes to support the Mission Operations and Data Intelligence (MODI) business within the Battle Management, Command & Control and Networks (BMC2&N) organisation. This is a hybrid* role located in Winnersh, Wokingham, United Kingdom.
Role Overview:
This role has both operational, strategic, and customer interface accountability for programme execution and excellence. They will be a positive force for this location and strive to grow new business and opportunities for this site.
The Project Manager directs all programme phases from inception through completion
Interfaces with customers for project specifications to ensure successful completion
Manages the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule and performance of company programmes or subsystems of major programmes
Coordinates the negotiation, proposals, business plans, budgets and contracts for programmes
Establishes cost focused performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets
What you will do:
Provide leadership, direction, and implementation management for local and remote teams
Support all phases of the program life cycle from proposal through implementation to contract closure
Travel to the customer’s site and be the main programme point of contact
Lead pursuit and proposal activities; develop change proposals and lead negotiation teams
Conduct internal reviews, e.g. gate reviews / plans in accordance with internal policies and procedures
Set program priorities, resolve conflicts and barriers, implement gates and major reviews with the customer
Conduct periodic meetings with the customer for program reviews and technical design exchanges
Hold Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Control Account Manager (CAMs) accountable for execution of tasks, including identification of recovery plans as needed
Achieve Annual Operating Plan financial commitments including bookings, sales, margin, and cash flow
Drive accountability for the day-to-day leadership to include matrix employees as influencing the values and behaviours of adhering to customer objectives and goals
The role is accountable for setting, designing, and executing the short, mid-range, and long-term objectives and strategies in alignment with the customer needs
Lead and execute growth needs and strategy for new business through communicating initiatives and inspiring change within the programmes
Communicate, engage, and manage customer programme reviews, Value Stream Macro Plan for programmes, policy deployment activities, off-site meetings etc. with all levels of the Value Stream and Customer leadership
Develop new concepts that break new ground through innovation and challenging status quo to build new business for the portfolio and programme
Qualifications and experience you must have:
Ability to obtain UK security clearance (SC)
Ability to obtain security clearances relating to travel to the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries
It is essential that the successful candidate be educated to an advanced degree level or have a solid track record of experience in a similar role
Must have Programme or Project Management experience – Prince 2 or PMP qualified
Experience leading Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) teams is essential
Travel required up to 50%, predominantly to the UAE
Qualifications and experience we prefer:
Experience in Government acquisition and military programme execution
Experience briefing at the executive stakeholder level
Experience in working in the training environments and leading the setting up of Engineering Labs
Experienced leader competencies, emphasis on influential communications with government customers, strategic thinking, cultivating innovation, collaboration, developing talent, customer focus, and driving results
Demonstrated results creating and maintaining strong executive level relationships with suppliers, customers, government representatives and internal peers
Ability to influence on-contract growth opportunities and recognise adjacent business development leads
