Aston Law School is seeking to appoint a motivated and talented academic to join our community as a Senior Lecturer or Reader in Law.

Aston Law School is a distinctive and forward-looking Law School with a strong commitment to high-quality research, innovative teaching and meaningful engagement with the legal profession, policymakers, and wider society. Located in the heart of Birmingham, we offer a supportive and collegiate environment in which ambitious academics can thrive and develop their careers.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint a colleague who will help strengthen our research culture and play a role in shaping the future development of the School. We welcome applications from candidates working in any area of law.

About the role

The successful candidate will contribute to the School's research, teaching and external engagement activities and will play an important role in supporting Aston Law School's strategic aspirations.

You will develop and deliver high-quality research, publish in leading academic outlets, contribute to curriculum development and enhancement, and provide an excellent learning experience for students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will also engage with external stakeholders and contribute to activities that enhance the impact and visibility of the School's work.

The role offers opportunities to contribute to academic leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, doctoral supervision and the continued development of our research and teaching environment.

Appointments will be made at Senior Lecturer or Reader level depending on experience, achievements and evidence of academic leadership.

Candidates appointed at Reader level will be expected to demonstrate a substantial record of internationally recognised research, research leadership and wider contribution within their discipline.
