Gloucestershire County Council is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Commercial Officer to support the delivery of high-quality procurement, contract management, and commercial services across the Traffic and Transport teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the Council achieves value for money, delivers excellent services for residents, and develops strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

About the Role

As a Commercial Officer, you will:
Support procurement and commissioning activities across a range of service areas within Traffic & Transport
Assist with contract management and supplier performance monitoring.
Provide commercial advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
Contribute to tender exercises and procurement projects.
Analyse financial and performance data to support decision-making.
Help ensure compliance with procurement legislation, Council policies, and best practice.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:
Experience in procurement, contract management, commercial support, or a similar role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively as part of a team.
Knowledge of public sector procurement and contract regulations would be an advantage.
