Job Title: Sports Centre Cleaner

Location: Northstowe Sports Centre
Contract Type: Part-Time (approx. 10 Hours per Week) or Zero Hours / Casual
Hourly Rate: £10.85 – £13 per hour (depending on experience)

About P&E Sports

P&E Sports is a rapidly growing provider of sports and school facility management, working in partnership with schools, community organisations, local authorities and charities to maximise use of venues and increase community involvement.

Our reputation is built on professionalism, integrity and operational excellence. We are proud to partner with 27+ schools, hiring out 146 different facilities for community use. These include a wide range of our own sessions — from football development and fitness classes to Nerf Gun and Bouncy Castle party packages, as well as holiday camps during school breaks.

We also manage the smooth running of five successful school community gyms. As we continue to grow, our focus remains on delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards across all facilities and increasing positive community engagement at every venue.

The Role

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking Sports Centre Cleaner to help maintain the cleanliness, presentation, and safe operation of Northstowe Sports Centre.

This position is available on either a part-time basis (10 hours per week) or as a flexible casual/zero-hours contract. Shifts are expected to include early mornings, evenings, and weekends, depending on facility usage and operational requirements.

As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in ensuring the sports centre remains clean, safe, and welcoming for members, visitors, hirers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine cleaning duties across all areas of the facility, including the gym, studios, sports hall, changing rooms, toilets, and communal spaces.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the sports centre.
Safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Complete scheduled cleaning tasks and maintain accurate records where required.
Monitor stock levels and replenish cleaning supplies and consumables as necessary.
Promptly report maintenance issues, damage, or health and safety concerns to the appropriate manager.
Assist with the setup and clearance of spaces before and after activities, events, and community bookings when required.
Deliver a professional and courteous service when interacting with customers and facility users.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the smooth day-to-day operation of the facility.
Uphold and promote the organisation’s values of professionalism, community engagement, and excellent customer service at all times.

About You

We are looking for an individual who takes pride in their work, demonstrates a positive and professional attitude, and can work independently while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

Essential Requirements

Good understanding of cleanliness, hygiene, and housekeeping standards.
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Strong communication skills and a positive, customer-focused approach.
Flexible and adaptable in relation to working hours and duties.
Physically capable of carrying out cleaning tasks safely and effectively.

Desirable

Previous cleaning experience within a leisure, sports, education, or commercial environment.
Knowledge of COSHH regulations and basic health and safety procedures.
