Practice Accountant – Small Accountancy Firm in East London

Are you an experienced Practice Accountant looking to join a modern, growing, and ambitious accountancy firm where your work is valued and your career can progress?

Ruddocks & Co Chartered Certified Accountants is an established and highly respected accountancy practice based in East London. We are seeking an experienced Practice Accountant with a minimum of 3 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a varied portfolio of clients, building strong relationships, and providing high-quality accounting and tax services. You will work closely with our management team and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the practice.

What You'll Be Doing

Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
Preparing Corporation Tax returns and Self Assessment Tax Returns.
Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
Preparing management accounts where required.
Assisting clients with bookkeeping using Xero and Dext.
Liaising directly with clients, providing advice and resolving day-to-day accounting queries.
Communicating with HMRC on behalf of clients.
Assisting with tax planning and business advisory work.
Supporting junior members of the team when required.
Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
Building strong relationships with clients by delivering an exceptional level of service.

What We're Looking For

Before applying, please ensure you meet the following essential criteria:

A minimum of 3 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice (essential).
ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.
Excellent working knowledge of preparing year-end accounts and tax returns.
Experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts.
Strong knowledge of Xero, Dext and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word).
Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
