Duty Manager / Bar Manager - LDN Bar Group - City of London
LDN Bar Group is looking for managers to join our team across our City of London cocktail and spirits-led bars.
We operate distinctive venues with a strong focus on cocktails, hospitality and spirits. We are interested in speaking with people at Duty Manager, Senior Bartender, Bar Manager in training, or established Bar Manager level. The exact title, site and level of responsibility will depend on experience, strengths and fit.
These are hands-on bar management roles. We are looking for people who can lead a team during service, maintain high standards behind the bar, support training, handle guests well and help keep the venue running smoothly. There will always be some stock, admin, compliance and back-of-house responsibility, but the heart of the role is leading the bar properly and setting the tone on shift.
You should have good cocktail knowledge and at least some spirits knowledge. You do not need to be a specialist in one specific category, but you should be genuinely interested in drinks, comfortable talking to guests about them, and willing to keep learning.
The role
You will help lead bar service across one or more of our venues, working alongside the wider management team and directors.
You will be expected to lead from the front. This means being visible and active during service, working alongside the team during busy periods, and setting standards through your own conduct, pace and attention to detail. The right person will be hands-on, calm, organised and respected by the team.
The role may include opening and closing, cash handling, stock control, ordering, staff supervision, training, and helping maintain drinks standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead bar shifts with calmness, confidence and professionalism
- Work actively during service and support the team during peak periods
- Maintain high standards of cocktail preparation, presentation and guest experience
- Coach, support and develop bartenders and junior team members
- Keep the bar clean, organised, stocked and ready for service
- Support prep, stock control, ordering, deliveries and wastage control
- Make sure licensing, age verification, health and safety, hygiene and company procedures are followed
- Handle guest issues with confidence, warmth and good judgement
- Communicate clearly with the wider management team
- Escalate staffing, service, compliance or welfare concerns where needed
- Help create a team culture built on pride, accountability and professional standards
About you
You may already be a Duty Manager, Supervisor, Senior Bartender, Bar Manager in training or Bar Manager. More important than your current title is whether you can lead well on shift and uphold standards in a quality bar environment.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Calm, reliable and professional under pressure
- Hands-on and comfortable leading from the front
- Confident with classic cocktails and quality bar service
- Knowledgeable about spirits, with a willingness to keep learning
- Guest-focused, warm and comfortable hosting
- Organised and able to follow structured systems and procedures
- Able to coach staff without ego, intimidation or drama
- Comfortable giving feedback and maintaining standards
- Serious about hospitality as a profession
- Flexible with evenings, weekends, late nights and busy service periods
Experience
Ideally, you will have experience in a senior bar, supervisory or management role. However, we are open to strong senior bartenders who are ready to step up and can show the right attitude, judgement and leadership potential.
Experience with cocktails, spirits, closing procedures, stock control, reservations, compliance, team supervision or training would be beneficial.
What we offer
- A management opportunity within a growing City of London bar group
- The chance to work across distinctive cocktail and spirits-led venues
- Exposure to extensive spirits collections and high-quality drinks programmes
- A role matched to your experience, with room to grow
- Structured standards, training and support
- Progression based on capability

Work Location: In person
