Job description:

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ofsted Residential Youth Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting and mentoring young individuals, helping them to develop essential life skills and achieve their personal goals. This position requires a strong commitment to residential youth work, with an emphasis on supporting young peoples transition towards indepedence. As a Residential Youth Worker, you will engage with children, young people and young adults in various settings, fostering a positive environment that encourages growth and development.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance and support to help individuals navigate personal challenges and develop coping strategies.
Support the development of important life skills, including cooking, budgeting, communication, teamwork, and problem solving.
Use mentoring/ keywork skills tailored to the specific needs of each individual or group.
Work collaboratively with other professionals to create comprehensive support plans and risk management plans
Facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, self-esteem, and personal development .
Monitor and evaluate the progress of individuals, adjusting support strategies as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress reports for each person.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children, young people and young adults in residential settings and the community
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with individuals and their families.
A genuine passion for youth work and a commitment to making a positive impact in peoples lives.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
