Cornwall Housing looking for a compassionate, proactive Housing Officer to join our Independent and Supported Living Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of older residents and people living in supported accommodation across Cornwall. About the role

In this frontline, community‑focused role, you’ll work closely with residents, Scheme Coordinators, and partner agencies to deliver a high‑quality housing management service that keeps people safe, supports independence, and strengthens neighbourhoods.

What you’ll be doing

Manage a designated locality, ensuring excellent customer service and strong visibility within our schemes.
Deliver core housing management services including tenancy management, compliance checks, and case management.
Identify and respond to tenancy issues, safeguarding concerns, and anti‑social behaviour—using sound judgement and professional curiosity.
Provide line management and coaching to Scheme Coordinators, supporting their development and service delivery.
Build effective relationships with internal teams, care providers, statutory services, and voluntary organisations to support residents’ wellbeing.
Carry out regular property and block inspections, addressing repairs, damp and mould issues, and safety concerns to ensure our homes remain safe and compliant.
Lead and support community engagement initiatives, listening to resident feedback and helping shape local service improvements.
Maintain accurate records, performance reporting and case management documentation.
Support service improvements, procurement activity, resident consultation, and estate improvement projects.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is motivated by making a positive difference for residents. Y We’re looking for someone who is:

· A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in Housing, Health & Social Care, Community Development or similar.

· English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent).

· Experience applying housing legislation, landlord/tenant law, ASB management, or similar technical skills.

· 12–24 months' experience in housing, supported housing, or community‑based services.

· Evidence of effective record‑keeping, case management, and partnership working.

· Experience handling enquiries, complaints, and delivering high levels of customer service.

· IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database systems.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Base:

Hybrid working – this is a scheme‑based role and will involve covering and visiting schemes across the locality, with some home working included as needed.

Your base will be our main office in Delvanie House, Truro TR1 3AY
