Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Chef/Waiter to join our vibrant hospitality team. This dual role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional guest experiences through excellent food service and culinary skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving food, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Prior experience in a restaurant environment is preferred, along with a passion for hospitality and culinary arts. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic setting, ideal for individuals looking to develop their career within the hospitality industry.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
Take orders from guests accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service
Assist in food preparation tasks, including basic cooking, garnishing, and plating
Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing excellent guest service
Manage table settings, clear tables promptly, and assist with guest requests or enquiries
Maintain organisation of the dining area, ensuring it is clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
Handle cash or card transactions accurately and efficiently

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is highly desirable
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
Basic culinary skills with an understanding of food preparation techniques
Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
Ability to provide outstanding guest services with a friendly demeanour
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Aptitude for upselling menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales potential
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends as required
