Full job description

At AA Labels, we currently seek talented individuals to work as Machine Operators and operate our world-class, semi-automatic label production machinery. The company has been in existence for 17 years and is experiencing strong growth, making it one of the leading suppliers of labels in the UK.

Please note that this role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to set up and manage machines accurately to produce varied customer orders. Please also note that these machines are not fully automated. Therefore, this position is suitable for someone who has the ability and the maturity to think on their feet, understand and respond to the specific order and the machine requirements. This position is not suitable for candidates looking for line operating. The candidates must hold a ‘can-do’ positive attitude and the willingness to learn and grow as a part of a dynamic business of talented and dedicated people. The main duties will be focused on operating the machines, with dispatch duties as a secondary responsibility.

Working Hours

Full-time: 40 hours from Monday to Friday, between 9 AM and 6 PM (logged in 5 minutes before start time in readiness for production). The specific working hours can be finalised within these hours (as long as they are fixed and agreed upon before starting).

Saturday overtime must be completed in line with business needs.

Duties and responsibilities

Operating Print Machinery to produce printed labels on flat sheets, rolls, and cartons.
Obtaining materials and supplies from the main stock as and when required.
Meet production requirements by following production procedures, customer-service standards, and quality checks.
To ensure that all products conform to internal quality standards.
To package and label products as per company's packaging policy
To operate the label printing machinery.
To cover for colleagues and carry out other general warehouse duties.
To meet productivity targets.
Time management and daily activity planning.
To participate in regular training.
Adherence to all company guidelines and requirements.
Any other reasonable duties as required by the business.

Ability to swiftly adapt and respond positively to change.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to think on your feet and respond well to any challenges and to dynamic situations.
Demonstrable problem-solving skills and ability to find answers/solutions.
Ability to work with technical information – quick learner with the ability to apply their knowledge (acquired through training) to different situations
Able to learn, retain and apply knowledge acquired through training.
Excellent level of attention to detail.
Respectful and considerate towards all other employees.
Able to use basic IT for the purpose of fulfilling the role.
Mindful of Health & Safety at all times.
Ability to handle heavy materials.
