Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within catering, food preparation, and the hospitality industry. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and exceptional service delivery.

Duties

Cooking and assisting with meal preparation and food safety procedures to ensure compliance with hygiene standards
Support chefs with cooking, plating, and presentation of dishes
Help with food storage, inventory management, and organisation of kitchen supplies
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe working environment
Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with set-up and breakdown tasks

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is essential; although training will be provided
Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Basic culinary skills including meal preparation and food handling
Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
Willingness to learn new skills within the hospitality sector
