Full job description

Transport Coordinator

Westland is seeking a dedicated Transport Coordinator to work on the PM shift, overseeing the despatch of Finished Goods from the Westland Corby site while managing the day‑to‑day operations of the Transport Department, ensuring smooth, efficient, and timely movement of products through strong organisation, clear communication, and a proactive approach that keeps our logistics running seamlessly.

Main Duties:

Scheduling of Westland customer deliveries & collections within a timely and efficient manner as a member of the Supply Chain Team.
Working closely with the Logistics Manager and planners to regularly analyse previous daily running figures, plans and data.
Working across multiple sites remotely to manage the distribution function.
Servicing customer relationships and expectations in terms of client collections.
Responding to email and telephone queries relating to delivery services raised by other depots and departments.
Planning collection routes and driver resource strategically to maximise capacity, fully utilising Core Fleet and using other lanes efficiently.
Gain a good understanding of how the warehouse operates to ensure there is a smooth and efficient collaboration between transport and warehouse at key loading times.

Essential Criteria:

A minimum of 1 year’s previous administration experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment
Previous experience dealing with high volumes of goods being dispatched in a similar
Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C including Math and English or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
An excellent communicator, both verbally and written and an ability to work on own initiative.
Possess excellent attention to detail, able to work accurately and quickly.
Must be well organised with the ability to respond promptly and have experience of working to targets/deadlines.
Due to the location of the site own transport is essential.

Desirable Criteria:

Previous experience in FMCG & Manufacturing environment or a Transport Office.
Experience of process improvements and system development.
Microsoft Office Systems experience.
