Marketing Executive- Supporter Engagement & Retention

British Horse Society (BHS) is the UK’s largest equine charity, helping horses and everyone who cares for them enjoy the best possible life together. We

make riding safer, champion the welfare of horses, protect off road riding routes, encourage participation and increase education and understanding around horses. Whether your time with horses is a bit of fun, a life’s passion or a life’s work, we make sure you can always find happiness, confidence and contentment together.

In this role, you will play a key part in engaging our key audiences, bringing BHS’ impact and benefits to life for supporters, members, volunteers, and partners to build a growing and loyal community.

We’re looking for a creative and passionate Marketing Executive to ensure BHS supporters and partners feel thanked, informed and proud to be part of our community. As part of the performance marketing team, and reporting into the Campaign Manager- Supporter Engagement & Retention, you will help deliver email campaigns, supporter journeys and content that strengthens loyalty, supports our charitable work and improves the supporter experience.

Position:

What you’ll be doing:

Creating and writing engaging email campaigns, newsletters and supporter updates that inform and involve audiences in our work.
Helping to build supporter journeys that thank, inspire and keep people connected to grow our community.
Working with teams across marketing, membership, fundraising, volunteers, education and charitable impact areas.
Using data and testing to understand and improve the supporter journey to grow engagement and retention.
Bringing our brand and values to life through key supporter communications and touch points to deepen connection to BHS and our cause.

What you won’t be doing:

You won’t be working with a single audience- you’ll support a range of BHS supporters and partners including members, donors, coaches and volunteers and be involved in many areas of BHS.
You won’t be working alone. You will be working within a supportive performance marketing team and collaborating closely with the wider marketing, communications and fundraising department.
You won’t need charity or equestrian experience, although either would be helpful.

You are confident in writing emails, copy and content that builds loyalty, trust and inspires to action
You are audience focused, passionate about understanding what makes our supporters tick and how to engage them.
You are confident using email marketing, CRM or digital tools
You like using data to understand performance and using it to improve what comes next.
You like coming up with ideas, then making them happen.
You want to work in an organisation that supports you to bring your full, authentic self to work and is working really hard to be a beacon of inclusion in the equestrian sector.

Hours: Our usual full-time hours are 35 a week – with an early finish on a Friday! We offer other flexible work options, such as compressed hours, which we’re happy to discuss.
