Full job description

Perfect Vehicle Preparation are looking for a Yard Operative to join our team based in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire on a full-time, permanent basis, working 45 hours per week, receiving a competitive hourly rate of £15.

We provide first class vehicle preparation services and are a progressive, emerging company focused on building a thriving team of employees who truly make a difference to our customers and partners.

The Yard Operative will be a key part of the vehicle preparation and operational process, moving vehicles with care between processes and into and out of storage as required by the business operations as well as completing vehicle inspections following arrival including accurately identifying visible damage on cars.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Moving vehicles with care around site between the various workshops and parking areas.
Working carefully and efficiently in the movement of vehicles.
Handling keys securely.
Carry out accurate inspection on each car identifying any damage including to bodywork, glass, fittings and light clusters, and recording vehicle tyre, tread depths and condition.
Identify the most suitable and appropriate repair method for cosmetic damage.
Recording obvious mechanical defects.
Completing any other tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the site.
Ability to drive all types of cars; manual, automatic, electric, and keyless.
Ability to follow instruction and meet deadlines.
A team player – willing to help others.
The ability to comply with all Health and Safety instructions and requirements.
Understands the needs of both customers and the company and demonstrates this in their work.
Takes ownership of all aspects of their role, working without close supervision and demonstrating effective self-management.
Able to work as a team, and support and assist colleagues.
You may be required to undertake other duties to meet business requirements and settings, including working alongside other departments.
Comply with all Health and Safety instructions and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others who may be working or entering the work area and report all hazards to your line manager.
