Full job description

About the Role:

Studio Botter Accounting and Business Advisory is looking for a Finance Manager to join our Paisley team. You will oversee day to day financial operations, support management reporting and help maintain accurate financial controls across the business.

This role is suited to an experienced finance professional who can combine strong accounting knowledge with practical commercial awareness. You will work closely with accounting, payroll, tax and business advisory colleagues to ensure financial information is accurate, timely and useful for decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounts:

Prepare and review monthly management accounts and ensure financial information is complete and accurate.

Financial Reporting:

Produce regular financial reports covering income, expenditure, cash flow, budgets and key performance indicators.

Budgeting:

Support the preparation of annual budgets and update forecasts based on business performance.

Cash Flow Management:

Monitor cash positions, expected receipts and upcoming payments and provide clear updates when risks are identified.

Reconciliations:

Review bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations and investigate unusual differences.

Accounts Oversight:

Support accurate processing across accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger activities.

Month End:

Coordinate month end activities and make sure required journals, accruals and adjustments are completed on time.

Financial Controls:

Maintain appropriate financial controls and help improve procedures where weaknesses or inefficiencies are identified.

Tax and Compliance Support:

Work with tax and accounting colleagues to ensure required financial information is available for statutory and compliance activities.

Audit Support:

Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external or internal audit requirements.

Business Analysis:

Review financial results, identify trends and provide practical information to support management decisions.

Team Coordination:

Support finance colleagues with priorities, technical questions and the completion of regular financial tasks.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience:

Several years of experience in management accounting, financial accounting, finance operations or a similar professional role.

Qualifications:

A recognised accounting qualification or progress toward ACCA, CIMA, ACA or an equivalent professional qualification is desirable.

Accounting Knowledge:

Strong understanding of management accounts, reconciliations, budgeting, financial reporting and general ledger processes.

Systems Skills:

Experience using accounting software and strong spreadsheet skills, particularly for financial analysis and reporting.

Analytical Skills:

Ability to review financial information, identify unusual movements and explain results clearly.

Commercial Awareness:

Ability to understand how financial performance, cash flow and operational decisions affect the wider business.

Organisation:

Ability to manage recurring deadlines, maintain accurate records and coordinate several financial priorities.

Communication:

Strong spoken and written English with the confidence to explain financial information to both finance and non finance colleagues.

Attention to Detail:

Ability to review financial data carefully and maintain a high standard of accuracy.

Mindset:

You are organised, commercially aware and dependable. You take ownership of financial accuracy, communicate issues early and focus on providing clear information that supports practical business decisions.

Pay: £4,000.00-£4,800.00 per month
