We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Research and Development team as a R&D Engineer – Composite Analysis at our Banbury site.

Your Role

As a Research and Development Engineer you will be a key contributor in the development of new composite products and technologies, from initial concept to qualification. Working in a challenging and fast-paced working environment within the R&D team. The successful candidate will support the design, development and optimization of a wide range of aerospace products, manufactured primarily through filament winding, HP-RTM, and braiding techniques, utilizing novel and efficient joining technologies. Must be a critical thinker with ability to solve problems through analysis, modelling and simulation.
Your role will allow you to:

Engage in the design, development, and analysis of novel structural composite components, including the use of first principal calculations and Finite Element Analysis
Author reports and documentation necessary to demonstrate technology progression and qualification
Support in testing to interrogate and validate component and material performance
Work with CAD modelling and technical drawing
Develop design and analysis tools for composite components

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Able to analyse and solve new engineering problems using first principles
Excellent grounding in solid mechanics and stress analysis
Experience with Matlab, Siemens NX, Abaqus and excel beneficial
Knowledge of composite materials is desirable, willingness to learn essential
Highly motivated, with a keen ability to use own initiative
Willing to take hands-on approach to developing components and testing methods
Clear open two-way communication skills
Fit the dynamic and enthusiastic culture within CTG and flexible with working hours
